Home Office Help: Gardien seeks National Initiative Gardien have approached Alan Campbell, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State responsible for crime reduction, to gain Home Office involvement in producing statistics relating to Garden Crime, together with associated links to house burglaries. In view of the reported 4% increase in house burglaries in the latter months of 2008, it comes as no surprise to us that there there have also been recent instances of shed break-ins which were instrumental in house burglaries. When you think about it, which self respecting "Tommy T-Leaf" is going to run the risk of toting his "tools of the trade" when he can often find what he needs in many unprotected garden sheds.
This month we bring to your attention the outstanding qualities of the Neulock and Neulock Bolt, which provide high security locking at sensible cost. The following three customer case studies demonstrate the effectiveness of these products
A firm in London fitted a NEULOCK onto their external buildings as the area was prone to theft and burglary. Since both the NEULOCK and NEULOCK BOLTS are totally bolt cutter resistant the thieves did try to break into the premises using hammers and cold chisels on the NEULOCK but they failed. The chisels were broken in the attempt and were left behind. The thieves had sadly managed to damage the key hole so that the lock could not be operated and the customer therefore arranged for someone to come out to the premises to remove the NEULOCK. It took more than 30 minutes to remove the lock and the customer was so impressed that repeat orders followed.
If it takes that long for you to remove, how long for a thief?
Another company that had fitted a NEULOCK to a school outbuilding wanted to remove it because the keys had been lost. A tradesman set about it using a petrol-driven angle grinder and even with that it took more than 20 minutes to remove the NEULOCK. The company that makes the outbuildings was so impressed they have since placed more orders for NEULOCKS
Another example which shows the large amount of time it would take a thief to break in.
An Essex company that makes engineering parts was continually having their outbuildings broken into with the doors being crow-barred and all the padlocks and hasp and staples being cut off using bolt cutters. A NEULOCK bolt was fitted and since fitting it more than a year ago no further attempts have been made to break into the outbuildings. Other businesses in the area have followed suit and have now fitted NEULOCK BOLTS to their outbuildings to protect them.
