Stop Metal Theft
In view of our Stop Press article on Metal Theft (see above), now is the time to take precautionary actions to protect the metalwork surrounding your house and in your gardens. SelectaDNA have developed a new forensic deterrent called "SelectaDNA Grease".
Once touched, this grease is almost impossible to remove, and contains both a UV tracer and a unique DNA code. Police are currently using the product throughout the UK in a bid to reduce and deter metal theft. Painting the metal with the grease suddenly makes the item ‘hot property’ - nobody wants to go near it and its value on the open market drops.
In addition, if a suspect is stopped for metal theft, the police can forensically analyse the perpetrator with the stolen material and link the suspect to the crime scene. External warning signs will deter the vast majority of Tommy T-Leafs.
